Several Face Charges After Lengthy Drug Investigation

Investigators cracked a drug trafficking operation, and at least two people are headed to prison for their roles in the ring. Larry Martin of St. Albans has been sentenced to twelve years in prison for distributing 10 pounds of meth and 60 pounds of marijuana to users and dealers in the Kanawha Valley. The U.S. Attorney’s office of southern West Virginia said he also admitted to recruiting a postal worker to deliver drug packages to him that were sent to homes along the carrier’s route. Carol Belton of Montgomery was sentenced to a year in prison for delivering meth. The US Attorney’s office said at least a dozen other people have pleaded guilty in connection with this drug ring as a part of the long-term investigation known as “Operation Second Wave.”
