Yak Fest is happening this weekend in St. Albans. It’s a two-day festival on Olde Main Street that runs Friday and Saturday with music, exhibits, new kayaks, fishing, and craft beer. Also, about 1,500 kayakers are scheduled to participate Saturday in Tour de Coal, a 12-mile float trip on the Coal River beginning at Meadowood Park in Tornado. Tour de Coal is a float trip, not a race, and will finish in St. Albans. Proceeds will go to the Coal River Group’s restoration efforts.
