A wave of orange, gold and yellow is sweeping across the alert map as 24 counties now – four more than the previous map – are listed in those colors. The map posted by the state Department of Health and Human Resources on Wednesday now shows two counties in orange – Webster and Marshall. No counties were listed in red. Gold counties include Putnam, and Kanawha county moved from green to yellow. Mason, Cabell, Boone, Wayne, Mingo, Jackson, Wood, and Nicholas counties are also in yellow on the latest map. There were 196 new cases reported on Wednesday with 43 of those the delta variant.
