The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is warning about a scam that involves a caller impersonating an officer. The scammer claims there is an active warrant for a family member and to avoid jail time, you have to pay up by using a prepaid credit card. Sheriff Mike Rutherford says police agencies will never ask you to pay anything.
