A Cabell County facility is the first in West Virginia to start growing medical marijuana. A company called Trulieve was the first to start planting just last week after getting approval from the Cabell County Board of Health last year. The company operates in Lesage at the HADCO Business Park on Fraziers Lane off of Route 2. Trulieve does all of the growing indoors in a controlled climate. They also will own nine dispensaries in the state and expect to have product on the shelves by the end of the year, according to WCHS TV. So far, the Office of Medical Cannabis has almost 2,500 patients registered statewide.
