A precautionary boil water advisory was issued for residents in the Nitro and Cross Lanes area Sunday. The boil advisory follows a main break which drained two area storage tanks, according to an alert by West Virginia American Water. Service has been restored, but residents should bring water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation to a full boil for a minimum of one minute, then cool before use.
