The shifting of counties to orange, gold and yellow continued Tuesday on the West Virginia county alert map as 20 counties – up two from the previous day – are now in those colors. Webster County, which had been the state’s sole red county last week, remained as the state’s only county in orange. The DHHR map showed seven counties in gold including Mason, Putnam, and Nicholas. Counties in yellow included Cabell, Boone, Wayne, and Mingo. Kanawha was among 35 counties in green. Gov. Jim Justice has expressed concern about the shifting colors on the alert map, which recently had moved to almost entirely in green.
