Gov. Jim Justice and the state Department of Tourism announced the launch of a new program Monday that will showcase chefs across the state. Nominations are open for the inaugural class of the West Virginia Chef Ambassador Program which will be a partnership between the Department of Tourism and the top nine chefs in the state. Each chef will serve a one-year term and will be picked based on years of experience, leadership in the community, innovation and culinary excellence in the workplace, as well as support of West Virginia agriculture. Each of the chosen chef ambassadors will be selected to represent a specific travel region. Nominations will be accepted through Aug. 3 with the state tourism office.
