The city of Charleston is getting ready for this year’s Multifest. Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin and organizers of Multifest and leaders of Power Park held a news conference to preview the four-day event. Things kick off Thursday, Aug. 5, at Power Park with the start of African-American Heritage Night highlighting how African Americans have contributed to professional baseball. There’s live music set for Friday and Saturday nights, and on Sunday, WNBA star Renee Montgomery will be returning home to sign autographs and to meet with fans.
