Firefighters said a blaze at a Cross Lanes motel appears to have started in an air conditioning unit outside of the building. The fire at the Rodeway Inn was reported Monday about 7:50 a.m. and ywo rooms rented in the area where the fire broke out were evacuated. The fire was contained to the outside of the building, and there was minimal damage. The Nitro, Tyler Mountain, West Side, Dunbar and St. Albans fire departments responded and there were no injuries.
