Kanawha County Health Dept. Encourages Vaccines

Health officials in Kanawha County encouraged residents to follow guidelines and get vaccinated after a significant increase in COVID-19 cases in recent days. The county has had 75 new cases since last Thursday. Dr. Sherri Young, chief health officer and executive director for the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department said COVID is back and on the rise and the Delta variant is the predominant strain across the United States. She’s concerned that we will see more cases of the Delta Variant here. The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department offers COVID vaccines Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. An additional offsite community COVID testing and vaccine clinic will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at the Schoenbaum Center from 1 until 5 p.m.
