Milton residents are fighting for clean and safe drinking water. The water has been discolored for years, and people voiced their concerns at a water board meeting earlier this week, but didn’t get many answers. City officials say the brown and yellow water is caused by a buildup of manganese in old water pipes. They say clear water leaves the plant, but can get discolored on its way to homes. Hydrants are scheduled to be flushed next week to clear out the lines.
