Mount State Forest Festival is Canceled This Year

For the second year in a row, the Mountain State Forest Festival in Elkins is being scrapped because of the pandemic. The festival has been running for 80 years and had been scheduled from Oct. 2-Oct. 10. The festival started in 1930 and had been held every year prior to the coronavirus, with the exception of 1942 through 1948 during World War II. It traditionally features more than 100 events, including a parade and the coronation of Queen Silvia. Organizers hope to have it back next year.
