New syringe disposal box in East End

A new syringe disposal box is now open in Charleston, just days after a CDC recommending more access to clean syringes in Kanawha County as HIV cases climb. The public health group SOAR in collaboration with the Living AIDS Memorial Garden cut the ribbon on the box at the garden on the city’s East End. The heavy-duty box is made out of gallivanted steel and weighs over 250 pounds.
