Court records said a mother and her boyfriend were charged in Jackson County after a 4-year-old boy was found wandering alone, and a deputy found his empty apartment in disarray with the door open. Justin Casto and Aaliyah Pauley, both of Ripley, were both charged with child neglect creating risk of serious injury or death, according to criminal complaints filed in Jackson County Magistrate Court. Child Protective Services was contacted and took custody of the boy. Both suspects are currently being held at South Central Regional Jail.
