The West Virginia Division of Highways said a new “R-Cut” traffic pattern on Corridor G is expected to be opened in the coming week after severe weather delayed the final steps of the project. The “R-Cut,” which stands for restricted crossing U-turn, will be the first of its kind in the state and is meant to allow for shorter wait times through an area known for traffic backups. Residual rains from Ida delayed painting of road striping, which has now been completed, according to a news release from the DOH. A run through test of signals presented a malfunctioning unit, which was also replaced. The DOH said it will notify the public a day in advance before the new traffic pattern goes into effect.
