More than 46-million dollars in grants will help sustain coal communities in the state. The money is coming from Appalachian Regional Commission’s Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization program. The POWER grant is the largest ever distributed. It is aimed at communities that lost jobs in the coal mines, coal supply chain, and in coal-fired power plants.
