The National Down Syndrome Society is holding its New York City Buddy Walk later this month and a girl from Hurricane will be the grand marshal. 17-year old Sophie Slack will have her picture on the jumbotrons in New York City and she’ll be one of two grand marshals for the event September 18 in Times Square. The event promotes the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down Syndrome.
