Kanawha County Schools just created new positions to help students with social and emotional issues they’re facing due to the pandemic. There are six new social emotional learning interventionists for middle schools and WCHS TV reported the hires were made with federal funding. There are school clubs once every two weeks along with positive buzz cards that offer praise and encouragement from teachers to kids. The intervention specialists also work to find the underlying issue as to why a student is struggling.
