People in Milton may soon start to see some water improvements after years of dealing with discolored water. The city has just been awarded a grant from the Infrastructure Jobs and Development Council worth $970,000 to help fund a water line replacement project. WCHS TV reported the entire project will put in a new line at Newman’s Branch and it’s expected to cost $1.1 million. The city has agreed to fund the remainder of it. The old line was opened in the 1960s and has been showing its age. Discolored water has been a problem in Milton for about three years and an overhaul of the whole system would cost $13 million to fully fix. Residents are cautiously optimistic that the grant money will offer a good start to fixing the issues.
