PSC Schedules a Hearing for Power Plant Upgrade Input

A public comment hearing has been scheduled in a case affecting the future of three coal-fired power plants in West Virginia. The state Public Service Commission originally scheduled an evidentiary hearing Sept. 24 to consider a request to have state residents pay for upgrades at the John Amos, Mountaineer and Mitchell plants in Putnam, Mason and Marshall counties after regulators in Virginia declined to support the changes. The public comment hearing is scheduled for 8-9 a.m. on Sept. 24 in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room of the Public Service Commission, 201 Brooks Street in Charleston. The evidentiary hearing will follow the public comment portion and will also address issues raised from the public.
