PSC will reconsider $48 million request for power plant upgrades

The Public Service Commission will take another look at a request from Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power to have West Virginia customers pay 48-million-dollars annually for upgrades to the John Amos, Mountaineer, and Mitchell coal-fired generating plants. Regulators in other states declined to support the changes because they are not economical. The upgrades are federally mandated to keep the facilities operating past 2028.
