Several Witnesses Report Seeing a Meteor-Like Light

At around 10:30 a.m. Friday morning in northeast West Virginia an eyewitness in Sutton saw a very bright silver light pass across the sky. At the same, an eyewitness contacted Eyewitness News saying she was driving south from Pennsylvania into West Virginia and thought she saw a shooting star streak to the east across the sky. Right after that, residents in Hardy County in the Eastern Panhandle, along with other people in northern Virginia saw flashes in the sky, heard a loud boom or booms and felt the ground shake. Radar indicated at least two lightning strikes in Hardy County even though there were no showers or storms in the vicinity. NASA is investigating the possibility that it was a fireball or large meteor that exploded as it approached Earth. More will be known this week.
