The latest figures from the two largest health care systems in the Kanawha Valley show the vast number of patients hospitalized for the coronavirus continue to be unvaccinated. At Charleston Area Medical Center, there were 103 patients being treated Monday for the virus and 76% of those are unvaccinated, according to a post on CAMC Health System’s Facebook page. Thomas Health, which oversees Thomas Memorial in South Charleston and St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, had 27 hospitalized patients being treated for the virus. Of those, 24 out of 27 – or 89% – are unvaccinated.
