West Virginia’s attorney general is advising the public to be aware of scams with sporting event tickets. As college football season gets underway, Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is stressing the importance of fans resisting impulse buys and deals that might be too good to be true. A news release from Morrisey’s office said scalpers can sense fans’ passion and it’s crucial that you take your time, ask questions and make sure that you’re dealing with a reputable vendor. Morrisey advises purchasing tickets from the box office or a well-known ticket vendor and pay with a credit card for a greater ability to dispute any unfair or unauthorized charges.
