Suddenlink has been the only cable service in Charleston, but a new agreement may give subscribers another option. Parkersburg-based CAS Cable submitted a franchise agreement to the city council that’s under consideration. WCHS TV said the city’s franchise agreement with Suddenlink ends at the beginning of December. City Council has under consideration two franchise agreements, one from Suddenlink and one from CAS Cable. The regulatory proceedings will take some time, and then there will be construction permits. CAS Cable said they hope to start building next year. Suddenlink also filed an application to renew its franchise agreement.
