A former Madison City employee is pleading guilty to felony embezzlement after a year-long investigation. Kim Bannister is accused of embezzling almost 160-thousand dollars from the city between 2012 and 2020. She was engaged in a fraud scheme to skim city funds, received extra payroll check, and she was paid for leave she for which she wasn’t entitled. Two others were convicted earlier this year. Bannister faces up to ten years in prison, and was ordered to pay back nearly 40-thousand-dollars.
