Officials got a glimpse Monday of construction on the new Clendenin Elementary School to see how the project is coming along. The new school is being built on a site off Wolverton Mountain Road off Elk River Road in the Clendenin area and will replace the old Clendenin Elementary that was destroyed by floods in 2016. In October 2020, the board decided to award the contract to Wolf Creek Contracting, which is based in Waterford, Ohio, and has a corporate office in Cross Lanes. Contractors said they hope to open the doors of the new school by August 2022.
