More than 40 people were arrested in a monthlong warrant sweep in Southern West Virginia. The U.S. Marshals Southern District of West Virginia CUFFED (Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division) Fugitive Task Force said it recently conducted “Operation Invictus.” The sweep took place from Sept. 7 to Sept. 24. The task force made 44 arrests for various offenses including first-degree murder, sexual assault, child abuse, malicious wounding and wanton endangerment. Marshals said the task force recovered six firearms, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and marijuana. More than $24,000 was also seized.
