The deadline for required vaccinations at Cabell County’s two largest hospitals has been extended from the previously announced Oct. 30 deadline. Mountain Health Network, which includes Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center, said it is postponing enforcement of its vaccine requirement while awaiting further guidance from the state and federal levels. The move follows other health systems in West Virginia, including Charleston Area Medical Center and WVU Health System, that have extended their deadlines. The release further said this also will give more time for staff who received their first shot to become fully vaccinated. In addition to the two hospitals, the network includes Marshall Health, the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Hoops Family Children’s Hospital and HIMG (Huntington Internal Medicine Group).
