Cabell Huntington Hospital officials said the hospital will continue providing quality health care as hundreds of union service and maintenance workers strike. Contract negotiations broke down this week over health care coverage, wage increases and staff safety, and about 800 union workers walked out Wednesday at noon. Cabell Huntington Hospital Chief Operating Officer Tim Martin said in a news release Wednesday afternoon that arrangements have been made to continue providing uninterrupted health care. The strike is the first in 23 years for union service and maintenance workers at Cabell Huntington Hospital. No new negotiation dates have currently been scheduled.
