A fire that started a vacant home spread to a second building on Saturday near Institute. Firefighters said the initial fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Stover Road, according to Metro 911. Firefighters on scene said the home was abandoned, but appeared to be occupied at the time of the blaze. No injuries were reported. The fire quickly moved to a neighboring house which was also vacant and then spread to nearby hillside.
