Boone County commissioners voted this week to give a one-time, incentive boost in pay to county workers – the first raise county employees have had in 8.5 years. Raises for employees come as the sheriff’s office has been struggling with dwindling manpower and asked for retention pay. Boone County is slated to receive more than $2 million in American Rescue Act Funding over two years.
