Charges Dropped Against a Former Marshall Football Player

A felony drug charge against a former Marshall University football player has been dropped. The magistrate in the case dropped the charge Dec. 1 against Knowledge McDaniel, who was a running back for the Thundering Herd. Court records cited a need for further investigation as the reason for the dismissal. McDaniel originally faced a controlled substances conspiracy charge. In the complaint, police said McDaniel allegedly directed someone to an apartment where the person could buy marijuana. McDaniel has since entered the transfer portal to play elsewhere.
