A man who was shot by police in Charleston after he allegedly lunged at officers while holding two knives was in front of a judge this week. Denaul Dickerson of Charleston is charged with attempted malicious assault of an officer. He has been in the South Central Regional Jail on a $50,500 cash only bond since his release from the hospital following the shooting. His case was originally set for trial on Monday but it’s been pushed back while Dickerson receives a competency exam.The judge set a new hearing date for Feb. 28.
