Deputies in Kanawha County have identified the person struck and killed by vehicle Friday night. 50-year old Wheeler Pickens of Charleston was arguing with his girlfriend who attempted to leave their neighborhood in a vehicle when he began hanging onto her vehicle as it was moving, according the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Pickens fell from the outside of the vehicle and was struck by oncoming traffic. The incident happened about 6 p.m. Friday night along Greenbrier Street near the intersection of Elkhart Drive. The sheriff’s office said no charges have been filed in the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
