West Virginia University officials issued a community notice in Morgantown after receiving an anonymous letter that made references to suicides in public areas on campus. The letter said the suicides reportedly were to take place at noon Monday, Dec. 6, outdoors at an indoor location, the Mountainlair, according to a news release Sunday from WVU. School officials said there is no specific threat to any person or groups. WVU said it has increased security measures across campus. University officials said anyone who notices anything suspicious should call 911. Anyone who needs help can call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 800-273-8255 or the Carruth Center at 304-293-4431.
