West Virginia lawmakers are making their way to the state capitol for the 2022 regular legislative session starting Wednesday. A special session ahead of that is aimed at economic development projects. House Speaker Roger Hanshaw, R-Clay, said multiple state departments have been in communication with companies expected to take root in the Mountain State very soon and added that the governor intends to make some significant economic development announcements soon. Hanshaw said several companies are considering West Virginia as a place for expansion and construction of new facilities. Hanshaw also said he has plans to focus on an education bill in the first week of the session.
