It’s been a week of major economic developments across the state. Gov. Jim Justice announced a project in Morgantown that will create more than 125 jobs. Owens & Minor and West Virginia Medicine will work with the state to launch a health care products preparedness center that represents a $50 million investment. A project involving GreenPower Motor Co. Inc. was also announced this week and they’ll manufacture zero-emission, all-electric school buses in South Charleston. That is expected to bring 200 new jobs to the state within the next year and the potential to create as many as 900 jobs once full production is reached in 24 months. State officials also announced a $2.7 billion deal and called it the biggest investment in state history. Nucor Corporation, the largest steel producer in the United States, picked Mason County as the site for a state-of-the-art sheet steel mill. The operation is expected to employ 800 workers.
