An annual event that gets thousands of hunters and anglers dreaming about their next big trophy returns this weekend after a one-year hiatus. The West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show is scheduled Friday, Jan. 21, through Jan. 23, at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. The show was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Organizers said about 175 exhibitors are scheduled to participate. Seminars on Saturday include an update on the Elk Project by Randy Kelly of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. A wildlife charity auction is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday in the Little Theater of the Charleston Convention Center. Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin will hold a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon Friday, welcoming the show back.
