The Huntington Police Department and the Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force used search warrants to investigate drug trafficking, resulting in two arrests and the seizure of narcotics. On Dec. 29 the task force, along with SWAT team members, used a search warrant to investigate drug activity in the 2100 block of Jefferson Avenue in Huntington. Police said more than 500 grams of heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and suboxone were seized. Matthew Fortner Jr. of Huntington was taken into custody and Huntington Police say they plan to make additional arrests from the investigation. A second operation on Jan. 5, organized by the task force and Huntington Police Department’s Patrol Bureau, executed a search warrant in Altizer, West Virginia on Riverside Drive. Investigators reported the seizure of two vehicles, two firearms, and large quantities of heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamines. Philip Rucker, 42, of Missouri was taken into custody in that case.
