More Snow is Expected Tonight

The second winter storm of January just left and another is moving in. After snow on Sunday and Monday commuters were met with wet roads and slush Tuesday. A cold front approaching from the west today (Wednesday) will bring wind and rain from the west and that will change to heavy snow tonight. Two inches of snow will be likely with a flash freeze, so roads could be icy Thursday morning. Meteorologists at WCHS TV reported about 15 to 20″ of snow measured in Huntington and Charleston so far this January and a likely 5 to 10″ to fall before the end of the month. January 2022 could be finishing in the top 10 snowiest all time and snowiest since January 1996.
