An Upshur County mother was charged after deputies said she was under the influence of methamphetamine and unnecessarily gave CPR to her healthy 1-year-old. Jocelyn Krum of Buckhannon was charged with child abuse creating risk of serious injury or death, according to a news release from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office. A news release said the deputies discovered that Krum was under the influence of meth and had performed CPR chest compressions on her child after she believed the 1-year-old was not breathing. Upshur County EMS examined the child and confirmed the child did not require medical attention. Krum is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
