New data shows high school graduation rates dropped by about a full point over the last school year in West Virginia. Graduation rates statewide took a small dip from around 92% in 2020 to 91% in 2021. Programs like options pathway, career and technical education and the newer community in schools and academic coaching positions are a few ways schools are putting an extra focus on students’ individualized learning this year. WCHS talked with Saint Albans High School Administrative assistant principal, Dale Glancy, who said the goal is everybody graduate traditionally, 100%, and any improvement get schools closer to that goal.
