School systems are breaking down how they’ll spend American Rescue Plan money. Cabell County got about $42 million and that will help update heating and air conditioning. The district will also add additional staff like nurses in each school, and they have plans to add WiFi in all the school buses. The school district also hired a compliance officer to help keep track of how the money is spent. WCHS TV said Kanawha County is spending its $82 million in American Rescue Plan funds on help with learning recovery and innovation, health and safety, and infrastructure to improve buildings, air quality and technology.
