State Revenue is Up

General revenue collections in West Virginia for December are the highest on record since at least the 1970s, according to Gov. Jim Justice’s Office. The state’s total came in at $506.8 million – $124.4 million above estimate and 32.6% ahead of prior year receipts. Halfway through fiscal year 2022, year-to-date collections of about $2.5 billion are nearly $394 million above estimates.
The news release said West Virginia has broken the all-time record for the lowest unemploment rate in state history in back-to-back months.
