Charleston Continues to Fine-Tune Its Plan for ARP Dollars

Charleston Mayor Amy Goodwin presented recommendations for $36.8 million in project finances to the American Rescue Plan advisory committee this week. The presentation focused on three main areas including economic recovery, health and safety of communities and investments in the city’s future, according to a news release from Mayor Goodwin’s office. Funds from ARP will be split between city projects and organizations that applied to receive funding. The ARP committee will meet on Feb. 16 to create an allocation plan which must be approved by city council on Feb. 22. The finance committee will vote to finalize the distribution of funds on March 7.
