A man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a man on I-77 in 2019. Jordan Lowrie, also known as “Jaydo” pleaded guilty to the charge during a hearing in Kanawha County Circuit Court on Thursday. Lowrie was indicted, along with Dekotis Thomas, in May of 2021, for the murder of Antwan Curnell of Dunbar. Thomas is also awaiting trial for the first-degree murder of Kelvin “KJ” Taylor of Charleston. Taylor was a senior at Capital High School when he was shot and killed in April 2021 on Central Ave. on the city’s West Side. Thomas was indicted for both murders at the same time. Lowrie was already jailed on federal charges when the murder indictment was announced and will be sentenced on April 18.
