Natural Resources Police Issue Citations for Illegal Trapping

The West Virginia Natural Resources Police have issued citations for illegal trapping in Clay and Nicholas Counties. Investigations in early 2022 led Officer Jeremy Quinn to discover multiple trap lines that had been set illegally, according to a post on the West Virginia Natural Resources Police Facebook page. Police say the traps were sprung or pulled and collected as evidence.
Citations and warnings were issued to several individuals for offences including trapping without a license, setting traps within 50 feet of exposed animal carcasses, failing to check and tend traps daily and failing to properly mark traps.
