The director of the Putnam County Health Department has resigned. Dr. Michael Robie told Eyewitness News on Wednesday that he has sent in his resignation letter to the county, but it’s not clear exactly why he resigned. A Facebook post said the agency is saying it’s seeking a qualified physician to serve as health officer for the Putnam County Health Department. The health officer promotes and supports population health and ensures compliance with a broad range of local health regulations, procedures, policies and state code.
